ANTWERP TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An 80-year-old Mattawan man was arrested Sunday for allegedly trying to force a 67-year-old off his property by chasing and hitting him with his truck.
According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, the 67-year-old man, also from Mattawan, had gone on Lloyd Hose’s property to fix a broken fence in the 25000 block of Red Arroow Highway. A fight broke out after Hose accused him of trespassing, and then got into his truck and tried to force him off the property.
There were no serious injuries, but the 67-year-old man complained of knee pain and had hand abrasions after being struck, according to the sheriff’s office. Hose was taken into custody and faces a charge for felonious assault with a motor vehicle.
