Clerk Punched & Wyoming Convenience Store Robbed

WYOMING, Mich. — A clerk was punched during a convenience store robbery Friday evening.

At 6:35 p.m. Friday, the Wyoming Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at 4 Star Gas at 1045 Chicago Drive. Police told FOX 17 NEWS that two black males entered the store, one purchased his items and paid for them, then the second jumped over the counter, punched the clerk in the shoulder and took money from the till, which was still open.

Both fled the scene on foot. A Grand Rapids Police Department K9 unit was called to the scene in an attempt to track the suspects, who were last tracked to northbound on Freeman headed toward the park.

The suspect who actually hit the clerk was described as a black male 18 to 20, wearing a black hoodie with black sweatpants and gray or silver gloves. He had no facial hear and stood 5-feet-8 or 5-feet-9.

The suspect, who paid for his items, has a similar description and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

An undetermined amount of cash was taken and the clerk was not injured.

The robbery remains under investigation by the Wyoming Police Department.
