WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Unlike last summer when Michigan was hot and dry, there is no drought in any of Michigan this year. In fact, this image from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows most of the midwest is drought-free as well. For a look at the situation for the rest of the country, click HERE.
Some areas, however, mainly north of I-96, are a little dry. Here is a look at some rainfall totals for the summer since June 1 from some areas in West Michigan:
- Grand Rapids: 6.90″, 0.08″ above normal
- Muskegon: 4.96″, 0.56″ above normal
- Kalamazoo: 9.37″, 2.82″ above normal
- Holland: 6.27″, 0.24″ below normal
