NEWAYGO COUNTY, MICH. — The body of 31-year-old Christopher O’Connor was discovered Monday afternoon after he went missing while on a tubing trip with family members down the Muskegon River Saturday, July 20.
Family members say there was an altercation with another group during the trip, but O’Connor then continued tubing. They noticed he was no longer with the group shortly after.
Michigan State Police and the Michigan DNR searched a 7-mile stretch of the river, and Newaygo County Sheriff’s Dive Team also searched a one mile portion.
