GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Thousands of people across Grand Rapids lost power Sunday morning after a problem with a substation on the city’s northeast side.
A FOX 17 news crew discovered utility workers trying to fix the problem at the substation at Aberdeen and Dawson. The workers said a squirrel made entry into the substation which caused the issue.
The Consumer’s Energy power outage map shows outages primarily in the Riverside Park Neighborhood as well as the intersection of Fuller and Knapp.
It is not clear when power will be restored.
