OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich- One man is dead after the moped he was riding on was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 11th Street and Stadium Drive, Saturday Morning.
According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department, a 74 year old Kalamazoo man was riding his moped on S 11th St crossing the Stadium Dr intersection. He was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 34 year old Kalamazoo area woman. The man was critically injured as a result and later died at a Kalamazoo Hospital.
The traffic signal at this intersection was out due to the severe weather the previous night.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
