Holland Man Pulled from Water by 6-Year-Old Daughter Dead

LAKETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The 34-year-old man who was pulled from Lake Michigan by his 6-year-old daughter after a shallow dive has died, according to Michigan State Police.

Nathan John Luna was with family on private property between Castle Park and Laketown Beach when he suffered fatal injuries from the dive at around 5:45 p.m.  Friends and family attempted to perform CPR until emergency responders arrived.

According to a press release, Luna jumped or dove out of a boat in less than three feet of water.  He was pronounced dead at Holland Hospital at 7:14 p.m.

Luna was the vice principal of South Haven Public Schools
