LAKETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 6-year-old girl dragged her unresponsive father to the Lake Michigan shore after he dove into shallow water Thursday evening.
According to Graafschap Fire Chief Cal Haverdink, the man was with family on private property between Castle Park and Laketown Beach when he suffered traumatic injuries from the dive about 5:45 p.m.
The man’s daughter then pulled him to shore, and bystanders were performing CPR on him when firefighters arrived. He was unresponsive when taken by ambulance to Holland Hospital.
