BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Jesse Tatum was charged with felony murder and arson Wednesday in connection with a November 2012 fire that killed 8-year-old Karrina Johnson.
Tatum, 25, is accused of going to a residence on Young Street in Battle Creek Nov. 29 and starting the fire after an argument with Janeen Johnson, Karrina’s mother. His request for bond was denied by Battle Creek District Court.
Another man, 27-year-old Michael Roberson, has also been charged with being an accessory after the fact for allegedly transporting Tatum to and from the crime scene.
