GOLDEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man has died following an accident at the Silver Lake State Park Dunes in the O.R.V. area.
Oceana County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Silver Lake Park Rangers, responded to the scene at 5:20 p.m. on June 11, and found that Cody Mong had been thrown from the quad he was operating. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In addition, police say that a second quad had jumped and landed on Mong.
The driver of the second quad was flown to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids with non-life threatening injuries.
The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
