MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — After an apartment building caught fire in Muskegon Heights, four people, including two children, managed to escape from a second story window.
It started on the main floor around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the East Park Manor apartments.
The fire chief tells FOX 17 that two adults lowered a four-year-old child and an eight-month-old from the second story window down to a bystander.
All four people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and burns. In addition, the adults have ankle injuries and one has a broken arm, but all are expected to survive.
At last check, there was no official cause, but FOX 17 is told it was accidental.
There is about $15,000 in damage from the fire.
