BATTLE CREEK, Mich — The City of Battle Creekissued a boil water advisory for three different areas on Wednesday, July 10, related to construction.

The affected areas include:

  • LaVista between Columbia and Orleans
  • Circle Drive between LaVista and Iroquois
  • Lakeview between LaVista and Beckman

It’s because a part of the city’s water system has been shut down for improvements or repairs. “Whenever the pressure of a municipal water system is reduced to allow for work to be done on the water main, the potential for bacteria to enter the system exists,” according to a media release. The sampling process takes at least 24 hours to complete.

That means, if you live in the affected areas, you’re asked to bring all of your water to a boil before you use it. Let it boil for a minute, then let it cool.
