GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A movie night is scheduled for July 19th in a Grand Rapids park. It’s called the “Creston Neighborhood Association Movie Night.”
Riverside Park is the venue.
Tuesday, city commission voted to designate the outing as a ‘special event,’ under the city charter’s Special Events Code.
The code allows organizers to specify event boundaries, set a time frame, and enforce certain rules. According to the proposal submitted to commission, dogs are prohibited, sound amplifying devices, unauthorized vendors, bikes, skateboards, etc. However, dogs assisting the handicapped are allowed.
The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and will close out by midnight. This is the second year for the outing.
