WYOMING, Mich. — Amber Wilson, the 28-year-old Wyoming woman accused of attacking her mother and stepfather with a hatchet in March, was found competent to stand trial July 1 by Wyoming District Court.
Wilson allegedly wounded her mother with the weapon while she slept March 7, and when her stepfather tried to intervene he was also hurt. She has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and could spend the rest of her life in jail if convicted. Her next preliminary hearing is 1 p.m. July 17.
