GRANDVILLE, Mich. — A woman in her late 50s had to be rushed to the hospital early Monday morning, after a car accident left her trapped inside her vehicle.
It happened at around 4:00 a.m. in the area of I-196 and Indian Mounds Drive SW in Grandville. Our crew at the scene has learned that a police officer from Grandville just happened to notice a reflection in the ditch, and went to investigate. The officer then found a car with a woman trapped inside. The engine was cold, so it is unclear how long she had been there in the ditch.
The victim had to be extricated by firefighters, and was rushed to the hospital with injuries to her head and face. She was last listed in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
