Muskegon Heights Assault Victim Dies From Holiday Weekend Head Injuries

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — The 31-year-old Muskegon man who sustained head injuries Friday, July 5 after a man allegedly threw him to the ground during a fight has died, according to Muskegon Heights Police Chief Lynn Gill.

Antawan Pace was pronounced brain dead July 6 following the incident in the 3100 Block of Glendale Street in Muskegon Heights.  The 30-year-old man who allegedly threw him to the ground was taken into involuntary custody and placed in the psychiatric unit at Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus.  The man has a history of mental illness, according to Gill.  His name has not been released.
