GRAND RAPIDS — The Grand Rapids Griffins announced the signings of forward Triston Grant and defenseman Brennan Evans to one-year deals today. FOX 17 has learned that Griffins captain Jeff Hoggan and defenseman Nathan Paetsch will be joining the duo soon.

Sources with knowledge of the contract negotiations tell FOX 17 that Hoggan and Paetsch have agreed to terms on two-year deals with the Griffins. Hoggan scored 20 goals and 45 points in the regular season for the Griffins last season and added five goals and 12 points during the Griffins Calder Cup playoff run. Paetsch was tied for second amongst defensemen on the Griffins with 31 points (4 Goals, 27 Assists) during the regular season. He added 11 assists in the playoffs.

Not everyone from the 2012-2013 Calder Cup championship squad will be returning to Grand Rapids next season. Chad Billins signed with the Calgary Flames organization on Friday. Francis Pare will not be returning to Grand Rapids next season. Pare signed a 2-year deal with TPS of the Finnish Elite League on Friday, too.
