GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – You might have already caught a glimpse of the “walking dead” roaming the streets of Grand Rapids Saturday night. But get ready. More rotting bodies are heading downtown Sunday for a new independent film being shot in several West Michigan cities.
It’s called “Beyond the Dark”, and this horror flick includes two different “zombie walk” segments in cities like Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Rockford, Cedar Springs, and Sand Lake.
Grand Rapids natives Matthew Arzeszak and Ross Scharphorn have returned from Los Angeles, California to shoot in their 22nd film.
“More than 200 actors from across the country are involved in this film, and the zombie walk involves scores of West Michigan actors dedicated to making a quality independent film, ” said Scharphorn, who also works as a stunt driver in Hollywood, California.
“Beyond the Dark” will premier in October at Celebration Cinema in Grand Rapids, with additional showings at the Woodland Mall.
If you want to take a peek at the action today, you can catch the zombie walk from noon – 4 p.m. on Wabash Court NE south of Coit and east of Jupiter Avenue.
