MECOSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich- Michigan State Police are investigating a traffic accident that led to a death of a teenager.
According to Michigan State Police, a 43-year-old man from Bartlett, Illinois was driving southbound on U.S. 131, when he swerved to miss debris in the roadway and lost control. The vehicle went off the roadway, then rolled over ejecting the driver’s 13-year-old daughter. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and his 38-year-old wife were taken to Mecosta County Medical Center. They were later released.
Alcohol is believed to not be a factor in this crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
