OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich- Drivers who take West Main Street (M-43) in Oshtemo Township will start to experience delays during their commutes, due to bridge work over U.S. 131. Nighttime lane closures on U.S. 131 began June 24, drivers should now expect lane closures on M-43 . At least one lane of M-43 will remain open in each direction, and two lanes of U.S. 131 will be open at all times, according to MDOT.
The bridge deck is being replaced, the railing is being replaced and MDOT is adding a sidewalk outside of the bridge. This project will cost 2-million dollars.
There will be ramp closures periodically and they will be announced as work proceeds. During ramp closures, drivers will be redirected to Stadium Drive and Ninth Street.
Construction is expected to be completed by Nov. 2nd.
