DETROIT, Mich. — Miguel Cabrera and Max Scherzer lead six Detroit Tigers selected to the American League roster for the 2013 MLB All-Star Game.
1B Prince Fielder, SP Justin Verlander, OF Torii Hunter, and SS Jhonny Peralta were also voted onto the AL team. Cabrera is the lone starter of the six, but Scherzer is expected to be named the AL’s starting pitcher.
This year’s Midsummer Classic will be played on July 16 at Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets.
