80 Sworn in as U.S. Citizens Before Grand Rapids Fireworks Display

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Eighty people were sworn in as American citizens to kick off the third annual Amway Fourth of July Family Fireworks display Thursday.

The naturalization ceremony occurred at 6 p.m. at Ah-Nah-Awen Park, and was followed by live music and children’s activities.  All of this precedes a fireworks show expected to begin at 10:30 p.m..  About 3,500 fireworks will be ignited over a 20 minute period, according to officials.
