VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. – A driver misjudged the distance between his car and train tracks in Van Buren County and had his minivan clipped by a freight train Monday afternoon.
It happened on the railroad crossing near County Road 215 and County Road 384 around 1 p.m when the train travelling northbound hit the 1999 Pontiac minivan. The 23-year-old male driver from the State of Washington was uninjured, including the three other occupants.
Deputies say there was no major damage to the minivan and no injuries to anyone on the train.
