BROOKLYN, Mich. — Have you ever wanted to know to see what guys like Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Jeff Gordon see on the track at the Michigan International Speedway? Well, now you have a your chance.
MIS is bringing back its track laps program, where race fans can drive laps on NASCAR’s fastest racetrack. Fans can experience the banking in the corners and follow the same lines as the NASCAR drivers do – and help raise money for charity.
Fans will have the opportunity to drive laps on the last four Tuesdays in July. The track will be open from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for laps on July 9, 16, 23 and 30. Reservations for track laps can be made by calling 800-354-1010 (no online purchases available).
Once a phone order has been placed, a ticket will be mailed to the guest in advance of their selected day. Guests can purchase tickets at the Administration Office off US Highway 12. All guests must enter and present their ticket at the tunnel entrance to the track off of Brooklyn Highway.
Track laps are $25 for each three-lap segment on the historic Michigan International Speedway. Participants will have the opportunity to drive on the track at a maximum speed of 70 mph led by the MIS Ford Mustang pace car. All proceeds benefit MIS Cares, MIS’ official charity.
