16 Arrested During 2013 Electric Forest Festival

ROTHBURY, Mich. — Sixteen people were arrested and 43 felony drug charges were filed at this year’s Electric Forest Music Festival, according to Michigan State Police.

In addition to those figures, 44 subjects are pending arrest after their cases are reviewed by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s office.  There were also 13 misdemeanor charges, including three assaults and five larcenies.

There was also one death on the opening day of the festival.  Joseph Budd Norris, 21, of Portage, was found collapsed in the campground area on June 27.  The cause of his death is unknown pending the results of an autopsy and toxicology reports.

According to promoters, approximately 32,500 tickets were sold for this year’s festival.
