WHITEHALL, Mich. — A 24-year-old Sparta man is in the hospital after being hit by a car in Whitehall.
According to Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler, Corey Anderson was hit at around 10:15 p.m. Thursday on Thompson Street just north of the bridge between Whitehall and Montague. Anderson was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a truck driven by a 31-year-old man from Montague.
Police say Anderson did not use the crosswalk, and it appeared that he had been drinking. He was also wearing dark clothes and it was raining at the time of the crash.
Anderson was taken to Hackley Hopsital in Muskegon, and his condition is stable. The driver is not being ticketed.
