BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Mich- A man is recovering tonight at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital after crashing his car into a tree early Sunday morning in Blendon Township. According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Zachariah Koop was traveling northbound on 48th Street when he fell asleep at the wheel. His vehicle then crossed the center line and the southbound lane before striking a tree.
He was taken to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
He was wearing his seat belt and alcohol is believe to not be a factor in this crash.
Ottawa County Sheriff Deputies are still investigating this crash.
