NORTH MUSKEGON, Mich. — Two North Muskegon police officers were fired Thursday for payroll violations, according to the Michigan State Police.
Officers Erin Baerman and Robert Brezina have been under internal investigation since April for the crimes, and were fired as a result of the findings.
The investigation was turned over to state police at the request of Muskegon County Prosecutors. A criminal investigation is still underway, and the prosecutor’s office will decide if criminal charges will be filed after evaluating the findings.
Neither officer has any history of disciplinary action from the department.
