KENTWOOD, Mich. — A 28-year-old Miami, Fla. man was charged Thursday with four counts related to credit card fraud in Kentwood.

Rafelo Antonio Bonne was taken into custody Tuesday, June 18, after a State Trooper in Berrien County pulled him over after a statewide alert was put out with his description and vehicle type. Police believe he was heading to Chicago with plans to board a plane back to Miami.

He was charged with two counts of stealing and retaining a financial transaction device without consent and two counts of possession of a financial transaction device without consent.

Bonne is currently being held on $4 million bond in the Kent County jail, and could spend up to 16 years in prison if convicted.  He will be tried as a fourth-time habitual offender, and is also being sought by police in Oregon for crimes involving the assault of a police officer and fraud of more than $100,000.
