COURTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 13-year-old was transported to the hospital in a helicopter after being struck by a vehicle heading north near the 9000 block of Myers Lake Avenue, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident happened late Wednesday afternoon, and Kent County sheriff’s deputies and emergency responders have shut down the area of Myers Lake Avenue between 11 Mile Road and 12 Mile Road.
The teenager is expected to survive the crash, and was conscious and alert when transported to the hospital.
