GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Scattered showers and thunderstorms will linger around West Michigan into the early part of Sunday, giving Dads around the area a possible excuse to skip mowing the lawn and relax on Father’s Day.
An area of low pressure tracking through the Great Lakes will bring some rain Saturday night, but that is expected to clear out of the region gradually during the day Sunday. Locations near the lakeshore and north of Grand Rapids may dry out in the morning, although a few spots south and east may hang onto rain into the early afternoon.
Partly sunny skies should break out behind the rain Sunday afternoon, with highs into the upper 70s to near 80°.
A secondary cold front will sweep into the state again Monday, bringing additional rain chances, followed by dry and somewhat cooler conditions through the middle of the week.
The end of next week looks warmer and wetter once again; be sure to check out the 7 Day Forecast on the Weather page.
Happy Father’s Day!
