GEORGETOWN TWP, Mich. — A family may have lost its home after a Wednesday-morning fire.
Shortly after 5 a.m., crews were called to 8286 Golfside Drive in Ottawa County’s Georgetown Township on reports of a fully-involved fire.
The first crews on the scene had to call for help from additional departments. By 6 a.m. the fire was knocked out, though they remained on the scene for awhile for cleanup.
“Everyone’s out safe,” said Dan Hamming, the fire chief. “I’d say it was a total loss.”
Hamming tells FOX 17 the family has relatives nearby and will likely move in with them.
The investigation into the fire continues.
