Teens Stole 2 Vehicles In Sturgis; Subject Still Not Found

STRUGIS, Mich. – Charges are pending for three teens who stole a car in Sturgis, crashed it, and then stole another vehicle.

It happened on Friday at around 2:45 p.m. when Strugis Police recovered two stolen vehicles as well as stolen property from the Sturgis Wal-mart. Police say that the three teens had stolen the first vehicle near Cronwell, Indiana and drove it to Sturgis before crashing and leaving it at a local business in the 200 block of North Nottawa. The second vehicle was taken near North and West Street and was later spotted at the Wal-Mart.

The three subjects then went into the store and stole some clothing items. Police confronted the three teens, who then fled on foot. Two of the three teens were caught with one being charged as an adult and the other as a juvenile.

The charges pending are auto theft, retail fraud, and possession of stolen property. They also face charges in Indiana.

No word yet on the whereabouts of the third subject.
