Search Warrants Lead to Several Drug Arrests

drug-arrestKALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety’s Community Outreach and Problem Solving Division, with the assistance of The Kalamazoo Metro Special Weapons and Tactics Team executed six search warrants in the City of Kalamazoo as part of the C.O.P.S. Division summer initiative to improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the search warrants were executed in the 600 block of Florence Street, the 500 block of Ada Street, the 700 and 1000 blocks of Cobb Street, and two in the 500 block of Elizabeth Street. As a result, more than 11 pounds of marijuana, heroin with an approximate street value of $4200, more than 10 grams of crack cocaine, and a bullet proof vest were seized.

Several arrests were also made, including 25-year-old Theodore Thompson. He was arraigned on charges for possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and maintaining a drug house.

31-year-old Tremayne Williams was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and 29-year-old Darrius Williams was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and delivery of marijuana.

As the investigations continue, more charges will be sought for additional suspects.
