BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Charges have been approved for the man responsible for a shooting in Battle Creek over-the-weekend and are on the look out.
According to Battle Creek Police, 26-year-old Dawson Dupree Haymer was the man who fired several rounds at 33-year-old Jonathon Mark Jones Sunday at around 1:30 p.m before fleeing the area.
It happened in front of a household in the 100 block of Greenwood, striking Jones twice in the legs. Haymer then got back into his vehicle and took off.
The victim was transported Bronson Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Haymer has been charged with Assault with intent to murder, CCW, Felony Firearm, and Felon in possession of firearm. Haymer’s whereabouts are currently unknown but he is
considered armed and dangerous.
