CASS COUNTY, Mich. – A passenger in a car tried covering up his outstanding warrants by giving out a fake name to sheriff’s deputies on Friday. However, that name also had warrants out for their arrest.

Cass County Sheriff Deputies first responded to the report of an individual parked in the Animal Control Office of Cass County with outstanding warrants. The driver then tried to flee, but deputies stopped him in the Sheriff’s parking lot and found both heroin and open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. The driver also has a suspended license.

The passenger of the car then tried providing a fake name, but admitted to his real name after finding that name also had arrest warrants. The passenger’s true identity was confirmed and he was found to be an absconder from parole.

Both suspects were arrested and names are currently being withheld until their arraignment.
