GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A man is now in custody after barricading himself inside a home with a gun and refusing to come out early Saturday morning.
The Grand Rapids Police Department stated that the man, Carlos Rodriguez, went inside a home at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday at 156 National Avenue Northwest.
According to a witness, shots were fired inside the home.
Five children and their mother made it out of the home okay.
Grand Rapids S.W.A.T. was on the scene and passed a phone trying to establish communication with the Rodriguez before taking him into custody at around 5:30 a.m.
