Thursday Forecast: P.M. Storms Developing

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Warm and humid air will fuel showers and thunderstorms that will develop in parts of West Michigan Thursday afternoon.

A broad upper-level system will slowly move closer to the region over the next couple of days, sending several rounds of thunderstorms into West Michigan.  Storms will not produce widespread severe weather Thursday, but that becomes more likely into Friday afternoon and night.

Conditions will remain warm and humid into Saturday before a cold front sweeps through the Great Lakes.  That will usher in cooler, drier air into early next week.  However, a few showers may linger into Sunday.

Periods of heavy rain may create issues with localized flooding over the next few days.
