BALDWIN, Mich.- The body of Grand Valley State University star quarterback Cullen Finnerty was found Tuesday around 7:40 p.m.
Finnerty was reported missing Sunday evening after fishing near Baldwin in Lake County. Police say he called his wife saying he was lost in the woods and sounded confused.
Lake County Sheriff Bob Hilts says Finnerty’s body was found about a half mile from where they found his boat. He was wearing waders and a camouflage jacket, which Sheriff Hilts says made it harder to find him.
Hilts says it is unclear when Finnerty died as well as how he died. No foul play is suspected.
