Anthony Bennett is accused of killing 4-year-old Carnel Chamberlain last summer near Mt. Pleasant on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation.

Carnel’s remains were found badly burned underneath the porch of his mother’s home.

The federal trial was originally set to start this spring, but is now postponed until January. Bennett recently had a new lawyer take on his case because his previous attorney was found to have a suspended law license.
