GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Periods of showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout the day Tuesday, with additional rain in the forecast later in the week as well.
Initial rounds of storms were already moving through West Michigan Tuesday morning. How quickly those exit the region and whether temperatures warm up at all will help to determine whether a line of stronger storms will develop in the afternoon and evening hours. The greatest threat from storms later in the day would be damaging straight-line wind gusts.
Weather should quiet down some Tuesday night and Wednesday, but a few more showers and storms are possible at times. Temperatures will warm into the 80s in the afternoons from Wednesday through Friday.
More widespread wet weather will likely develop as a slow-moving cold front slides into the Great Lakes from late Thursday through Saturday.
