GUN PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man from Otsego died after crashing his car into a tree on Memorial Day.
According to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to 10th Street north of Baseline Road in Gun Plain Township for a car accident. When they arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into a large tree.
The driver, identified as Matthew Alan Artis, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said he was driving at a high rate of speed before crashing into the tree.
The crash remains under investigation.
