CHICAGO — The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 in Game Five of their best-of-seven Western Conference Semifinal series.
Bryan Bickell opened the scoring in the first period with his fourth goal of the postseason. Daniel Cleary tied the game up at 1-1 midway through the second period. However, it was all Chicago after that as its power play went to work.
Andrew Shaw redirected a Duncan Keith shot to put the Blackhawks back in the lead with a power play goal.. Jonathan Toews scored his first of the postseason with a power play goal a couple of minutes later to put Chicago up 3-1. Shaw would cap the scoring with his second of the night in the third period.
Game Six of the series will be played on Monday at 8:00 p.m. in Detroit.
