MILKY WAY — (FOX 17) — With mainly clear skies expected for the next few nights, there should be no problem in viewing a rare planetary configuration. Just after sunset on Friday (which is at 9:07pm), you will be able to see Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury huddled together in the western sky. They will be at their closest Friday but still close together for the rest of the holiday weekend.
Venus will be white, while Jupiter will appear yellow. The other planet, which won’t be nearly as bright, is Mercury.
The moon is nearly full as well, so the sky should be absolutely striking for the rest of the week.
If you are able to snap any pictures, we would love to see them! You can post them to the FOX 17 Facebook page, or send them to weather@fox17online.com
