Holland, Mich. — The remaining member of the Holland Latin Kings who had avoided capture following a sweeping federal indictment has been caught.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Jose Hernandez he was arrested in Louisiana and is awaiting transfer to West Michigan.

Hernandez was one of two defendants West Michigan law enforcement officials were unable to find when the indictment was issued.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Miles said an arraignment is pending on the West Michigan federal charges.

Hernandez is one of 31 men who were rounded up and arrested as part of an investigation that began in Holland in 2010.

The men are accused of a number of crimes, including racketeering for what police say was their role in the Holland Latin Kings organization.

Court dates involving the other defendants revealed that authorities believe the gang was responsible for a number of violent crimes and the distribution of marijuana.

Friday FOX 17 reported that at least three of the members of the Latin Kings organization had recently changed their pleas to guilty in the case.

Sentencing for those defendants is scheduled for late summer and early fall.
