GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man crashed his car into a tree early Sunday morning.
According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, the 18-year-old man from Caledonia was driving Eastbound on 84th Street between Hanna Lake Avenue and East Paris Avenue. He then veered off the roadway, crossing the Westbound lanes and struck a tree on the north side of the road in front of 3547 block of 84th Street a little after 3 a.m.
Deputies tell FOX 17 that the man was pinned inside. The man was able free himself from the vehicle and had help from local residents until officers arrived on the scene.
Dutton Fire was called to respond while Life EMS treated him and then transported him to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital for multiple injuries including face and internal.
Police tell us alcohol was a factor.
