Memorial Service for Fallen Grand Rapids and West Michigan Officers

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Every year, dozens of public servants gather in uniform to remember those lost in the line of duty, and today, that will continue with a memorial service in Grand Rapids.

More than 30 fallen officers from Grand Rapids and West Michigan will be remembered along with others who may have had ties to the area.

The service starts at 10 a.m. at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids, and officers are asked to arrive at the stage at 9;45 a.m. in Class A uniform.

State Representative Winnie Brinks will serve as the guest speaker, and a reception will follow on the third floor of the Grand Rapids Police Department, in room 3043.

The service is open to the public, and the reception location will serve as the back up location for the service in the event of rain.
