Man Injured in Crash After Failing to Stop at Stop Sign

MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. – The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department responded to a personal injury accident on Wednesday.

Twenty-four year old, Douglas Rios of Stanton, was injured when he failed to stop at a stop sign on Stanton Road at Greenville Road.

Rios’s vehicle hit a Freightliner dump truck hauling a trailer that was loaded with gravel.

The driver of the Freightliner was not injured during the crash. Rios was transported to United Memorial Hospital by Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services with non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Rios was cited for disregarding a stop sign.
