ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A passenger was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash at midday Monday.
At 12:43 p.m. Monday, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident with injuries on Lake Michigan Drive at 92nd Avenue in Allendale Township. The investigation showed that Jesus Hernandez, 32, of Holland was eastbound on Lake Michigan Drive and stopped to turn onto 92nd Avenue when his 2003 Honda Pilot was hit in the rear by an eastbound 2012 Buick Lacrosse driven by Edith Dorn, 79, of Muskegon.
Police said Dorn failed to see Hernandez stopped and waiting to turn.
Neither Dorn nor Hernandez was injuried. A passenger in Dorn’s vehicle — her husband, Alfred Dorn, 82, of Muskegon — suffered non-life-threatening head and chest injuries and was transported to Hackley Hospital for treatment.
All three occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The collision remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
