Free Skin Cancer Screenings Offered

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — As we continue to see more blue skies in West Michigan, it’s important to remember to keep our skin safe under the sun.

In an effort to help people, Spectrum Health will offer free skin cancer screenings today at three different locations:

Alpine Urgent Care Center: 2332 Alpine Ave, Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids Internal Medicine/Pediatrics: 1300 Michigan St, Suite 202, Grand Rapids

South Pavilion Urgent Care Center: 80 68th St, Suite 302, Cutlerville

The cancer screenings will consist of a visual inspection of the skin by a medical professional, and those who attend do not need to worry about having blood work done.

Appointments aren’t necessary, and people who do not have a dermatologist but have moles they are concerned about are encouraged to attend.

The screenings run from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.
